Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard surfaces
A revitalized Medvedev secured his first title for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.
Medvedev, a former world number one, has had a difficult period, achieving just one match at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with former trainer his previous coach.
Now training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set triumph over opponent Moutet.
This represents the player's first championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface after March of that year.
Success also means he has achieved 21 titles at 21 various competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a championship is particularly special," stated tennis professional Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, including in the German tournament in the past months.
His retrieving approach and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had led observers to doubt if his skill to perform at the highest level was over.
But the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and compete aggressively, supported by an improved serve.
He fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky opponent, securing 4 of the last five points to take the lead.
Both players traded break points in the following set before Moutet, striving for his first ATP Tour championship, took control to push for a third set.
Moutet saved four initial break points in a competitive final set before the Russian broke to fifteen to serve for the match.
Suitably, the winner earned the title with a shot at the net area, with his opponent unable to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
